![]() I'm not a professional reviewer but since the press out there is minimal, and considering Barking Dog just became Rockstar Vancouver, I'm a little worried that this game will slip under the radar. After playing the crap out of it this weekend I must say this is a good game, one I'd recommend to fans of the genre or the movie. It's a tactical ship to ship game much like Age of Sail or Star Fleet Command. I was quite suprised to see it on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart for $20US this weekend considering EB has it shipping on 11/5 and ToTheGame has it listed for 11/25. I remembered hearing a while ago about how Barking Dog (them what brought you Homeworld: Cataclysm) was making an RTS based on it. The twist is all the sailing ships are in space (or the Etherium) and cyborgs, aliens and robots abound. ![]() If you haven't seen the trailer for the movie yet it's basically a Disney remake of Treasure Island. if only someone would make a game out of it. No matter what your opinion of Disney taking classic stories and making them their own, you have to appreciate the style that they've come up with the tall sailing ships plying the etherium, raising solar sails, firing laser cannon(balls) in broadsides at each other. Treasure Planet is a "Disney remake" of Treasure Island for better or worse. ![]() You may have seen trailers for Disney's big animated holiday movie for 2002. ![]()
